Spring 2008, I saw an endocrinologist for an unrelated question, and she found a nodule in my thyroid. She took a sample via Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) which came back from the lab as suspicious for cancer, but not conclusive. The only way to determine, definitively, was to remove at least half my thyroid and send it to be picked apart in a lab. So it began with surgical consults. For a couple months, this had become a cancer blog, but that just bummed me out. Those of you who have the password can find my whole process and journey.

Hi JL,
Waiting can drive one a bit around the twist. Nevertheless, you sound on top of it. The chances of your being fine are high, high, high. I’ll stay posted through your blog. As Shakespeare would have said, god’s speed.
